Terms of Use

Last updated October 25, 2026

These terms govern your use of StratEngine at stratengine.app (the “Service”), operated by StratEngine (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. What the Service is

StratEngine is software that analyzes market data using TheSTRAT candlestick method, grades setups, sends alerts, records trade history and, if you turn it on, places orders in a brokerage account you connect. The Service currently works with paper (simulated) accounts only.

2. Not investment advice

StratEngine is a tool, not a broker-dealer, investment adviser or financial planner. Nothing in the Service is a recommendation to buy or sell any security or a statement that any trade is suitable for you. Setups, grades, trade ideas and results are produced by fixed rules from market data; they are not personalized advice and don't predict future results. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions and for the settings you choose.

3. Risk

Trading stocks and options involves substantial risk of loss. Options can lose their entire value. Paper trading is simulated: paper fills, prices and results differ from real trading and usually look better. Past or simulated performance does not guarantee future results.

4. Eligibility and accounts

5. Connecting a broker

To use market data or the auto-trader, you connect your own account at a supported broker, currently Alpaca, either through Alpaca's authorization page or with API keys. Your brokerage account and its terms are between you and the broker. Brokerage services are provided by Alpaca Securities LLC, member FINRA/SIPC; StratEngine is not affiliated with Alpaca. By connecting, you authorize StratEngine to access your account information and to place, change and cancel orders in your connected account at your direction, meaning only according to the mode and settings you choose in the Service. You can pause the bot, close positions and disconnect at any time.

6. How the auto-trader behaves

When auto-trading is on, the Service checks the market about once a minute during US market hours and acts on its rules: entering setups that meet your minimum grade, sizing positions from your risk setting, and exiting at stops, targets, end of day or before option expiration. Software, data feeds, brokers and networks can fail, be delayed or behave unexpectedly. Orders may fill at different prices than expected, partially fill, or not fill. You agree to monitor your account and not rely on the Service as your only safeguard.

7. Acceptable use

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on others, including Alpaca (brokerage and market data), Cloudflare (hosting) and, if you turn on phone alerts, ntfy (notifications). Their services are governed by their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.

9. Fees

The Service is free during beta. If that changes, we'll tell you in advance and you can stop using it.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR PROFITABLE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY TRADING LOSSES, LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

12. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page; this removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or to protect the Service or other users.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we'll notify you in the Service or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
